✎ He explained that the name Avicii means “the lowest level of Buddhist hell” (Avīci). He has been nominated twice for a Grammy Award. He was a member of the Laidback Luke Forums, where he refined his craft. In May 2007, Avicii signed on with the Dejfitts Plays label. He released his debut studio album, True, in 2013. He was ranked third on DJ Mag in 2012 and 2013. In 2011, he released “Levels”, which launched him into the mainstream. His influences include Daft Punk, former trio Swedish House Mafia, and Eric Prydz. He has described his earliest entree to electronic music as “listening to a lot of Daft Punk, way before I knew what house music was”. Some of his most famous songs are “I Could Be the One”, “Wake Me Up”,”Addicted to You”, and “Levels”.
